The Society of BiologySociety of Biology
Come along and find out more about biology and the variety of jobs available in the subject! Our vision is of a society that understands the true value of biology and how it can contribute to improving life for all.

Zooniverse
The Zooniverse began with a single project, Galaxy Zoo, launched in July 2007. The Galaxy Zoo team had expected a fairly quiet life, but were overwhelmed and overawed by the response to the project. Once they'd recovered from their server crash, which was buckling under the strain, they set about planning the future!

Galaxy Zoo was important because not only was it incredibly popular, but it produced many unique scientific results and we are committed to producing real research.

The Institution of Civil Engineers - Bridge to Schools project
The Bridge to Schools project was successfully launched in 2009. We aim to make children more aware of the work of civil engineers and their contribution to society. The project involves pupils building a 12.5m long cable-stayed bridge within an hour session.
