On your doorstep – help us to put your area on the map
Sometimes you just don’t notice the best things in life and take them for granted. Or maybe you do, and you’d like to help point them out to others?
What’s the best science or engineering project or achievement near you? Is it a particularly good building? Maybe you’re lucky enough to live next to a studio that designs some of your favourite gadgets? Perhaps some medicines that have saved thousands of lives have been produced around the corner from you?
On your doorstep is here to help. Not only can you vote for your favourite breakthrough or discovery, but you can help us map out where some of the best ideas in the country have come from. It’s also a great way to show how proud you are of your area, and to share that with everyone else.
Together, we can find the most creative corner of the UK. Is it the South East, where the Spitfire was developed? Or perhaps the Midlands, where the umbrella comes from? Or think how dark the world would be without the light bulb, which came from the South West….And let’s not forget Scotland, where television was born.
