The Big Bang South West 2013
The Big Bang South West, celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, went into a new galaxy in scale at the University of Exeter Streatham campus yesterday (Thursday 27 June 2013)!
This year's event took place in in the University's Tennis Centre and more than 90 judges assessed over 150 student projects for thirty highly coveted prizes.
80 local, national and international organisations including Rolls Royce, Airbus, Barclays, Interserve, EDF, Tolcarn Observatory, E.ON, Kier, Babcock, Devon Contract Waste, South West Water, SunGift Energy and Western Power Distribution shared their skills and enthusiasm with the 2000 plus students.
In addition, 1,050 young people took part in a 'Mega Class' covering science, physics and chemistry led by National Space Academy Director Anu Ojha and sponsored by energy company E.ON.
We’d like to thank all the budding scientists and engineers who travelled to Exeter and the sponsors, volunteers and organisers who made the event possible with all their hard work.
We’d also like to congratulate the young scientists and engineers who brought along their excellent projects. There were a number of prizes given out on the day so click here to see a list of the winners.
