The Big Bang Cymru 2012 has been launched and we are in the process of arranging some exciting workshops, shows and interactive drop-in stands.
The event is gaining a reputation across Wales and is becoming the premier STEM celebration for 11-18 yr olds. As such it is growing in popularity and we are pleased to have already accepted our first registrations for the event. We are now inviting schools and colleges across Wales to register and reserve stand space for their competition entries or STEM clubs. If you would like to get involved then please email wales@thebigbangfair.co.uk.
Schools and colleges that have been involved in the Big Bang Cymru over the last two years tell us they valued the opportunity to show the public what they can do. They also felt that their learners benefited greatly from being able to interact with STEM professionals who could provide constructive commentary about their work and advise them on the steps to take to improve their skills and ideas.
The learners themselves become absorbed in the excitement and challenges presented to them. They particularly enjoy and benefit from the chance to attend the interactive shows and workshops that reflect subjects ranging from stargazing to biology.
Our schools and colleges deserve praise and positive public recognition for the amazing work they do and that’s precisely what the Big Bang Cymru gives them!
Don’t hesitate – enter any STEM project that you’ve been working on for your GCSEs or A levels. You can also enter any project you’ve been working on as part of your schools’ /colleges’ extra curricular programme or a project you’ve worked on in your own time. Your interest in Science, engineering, technology or maths could turn into a career so take your first step!
