The Call For Activities for the 2014 UK Fair is now open!

The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair 2014 will take place at The NEC, Birmingham from 13th to 16th March.

The Big Bang Fair 2013The Fair is a free event for all 7-19 year olds, their teachers and families - with school and college groups invited on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th March and the public welcomed on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th.

Following the incredibly successful London event in 2013 - which attracted more than 65,000 people - The Big Bang Fair 2014 will provide an excellent opportunity for the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) community to come together to enthuse and inspire young people about careers in STEM.

The Fair will also celebrate the achievement of young people by featuring the finals of the National Science + Engineering Competition (NSEC) and its awards ceremony - where the UK Young Scientist of the Year and UK Young Engineer of the Year will be crowned.

In addition to the national event, we also run several ‘Near Me’ events throughout the year. These vary in size and some include heats to NSEC.  If you would like to apply to run an activity at one of these events, please indicate which region you are interested in on the activity application form.  For more information on these, please visit www.thebigbangfair.co.uk/nearme.

Eligibility

Preference will be given to not-for-profit organisations.  If you are a college, university or commercial organisation you will be contacted by a member of The Big Bang Fair sponsorship team to clarify your request and identify a relevant sponsorship opportunity.

Commercial organisations are able to participate through sponsoring The Fair.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please email sponsors@thebigbangfair.co.uk.

Selection

For the UK Fair, we will aim to confirm and send out contracts for all activities by the end of September prior to event registration for The Big Bang Fair 2014 going live at the beginning of October.  Unfortunately, due to demand for space and the number of applications submitted, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will be selected.

Should you have any immediate questions, please do not hesitate to contact activities@thebigbangfair.co.uk.  If you are selected for an interactive exhibition space on our main showfloor, you are required to run your activity for all 4 days of the event the time the showfloor is open.  Please bear this in mind when submitting your activity and make sure that you have the appropriate resource available to staff your stand
.
The Near Me Fairs run all year round and therefore we are continually seeking these activities.  There is no open or closing date for these.
